Samsung and BlackBerry have teamed up in the past for ventures such as promoting BBM and recently both companies also helped create a tablet. In fact both companies have such a close relationship that it even spawned rumors that Samsung was perhaps thinking of acquiring BlackBerry, although those rumors have since been refuted more than once.
That being said if the new rumors are to be believed, both companies are said to be working together again and could be thinking of releasing a smartphone together. This is according to a recent tweet by blogger Eldar Murtazin who has in the past been hit and miss with his leaks and insider information.
According to Murtazin, both companies are thinking of creating an Android-based smartphone that runs on Android Lollipop, but will also come with BlackBerry's services installed. Recently there have been rumors that BlackBerry was considering making an Android handset so we have to wonder if this new rumor has anything to do with it, or it is an entirely different project.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of Samsung and BlackBerry working together? Could we expect a phone that sports the design of Samsung but comes with the security of BlackBerry? That might not be such a bad idea after all!
