FG traces looted funds to US, UK and other European countries

The Federal Government has started tracing looted Nigerian funds to foreign countries with the aim of retrieving them.

This move came after the declaration by President Muhammadu Buhari on his first day in Aso Villa office that he inherited an almost empty treasury from his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, thus vowing that his administration would recover all the looted funds kept in foreign banks by corrupt Nigerians.

The President was quoted as saying in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

"The next three months may be hard, but billions of dollars can be recovered, and we will do our best."

Some of the countries where looted funds from Nigeria have been kept in the past include Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Others are France, Germany, British Virgin Islands and other tax havens spread across the globe.

Adesina, who confirmed the move in an exclusive interview with Saturday PUNCH on Thursday, said, the search for the looted funds will not be limited to these countries but anywhere in the world where they may be hidden.

He said,
"The search will not only cover UK, US, Switzerland, Germany and other known havens for Nigerian looted funds but will cover everywhere under the sun. Anywhere and everywhere that the looted funds are, we have an assurance from the United States of America to assist us to repatriate these funds from anywhere under the sun."

It was learnt that the Federal Government's investigation was meant to identify the individuals who were involved in corrupt practices and ascertain the sums of money involved with a view to retrieving them.

Anti-corruption agencies will also play a prominent role in the exercise targeted at corrupt government officials in the recent past administration and their private sector collaborators, among others.

To this end, Adeniyi said that the Federal Government is planning to engage the services of foreign private investigators to help trace and find looted funds belonging to the people of Nigeria.

"Everything that needs to be done to get all those funds repatriated will be done, including engaging private investigators," the Presidential spokesperson added.

Buhari had lamented that officials of the recent past government jettisoned all financial and administrative instructions put in place in parastatals and agencies while embracing impunity, lack of accountability and financial recklessness in the management of national resources.

This, the President said, had thrown the country into financial crisis.

Theforeign search, which is expected to be thorough, will, among others, be directed at foreign banks with the ultimate aim of getting incontrovertible facts and figures that can aid the government in collaboration with the US and other members of the G7 nations to recover stolen funds stashed abroad.

Adesina said the identification of foreign banks being used to stash stolen funds was one of the mandates given to Buhari during a meeting he had with President Barak Obama at the recent G-7 summit in Germany.

He said,
"When the President met with the G7, the promise that the American President gave him was that Nigeria should just provide all the facts, the figures, the statistics, including the banks.

"He promised that if Nigeria could make the information available, then the US will help in recovering the stolen funds."

When asked specifically if the Federal Government had started identifying the banks, the presidential spokesman said,

"Yes. In fact, the President said the government will spend the next three months identifying banks, individuals and monies that have been ferried out of this country.

"The assurance the President has given is that within the next three months, we have to concentrate on getting those monies back to the government coffers," he added.

Buhari had said early in the week that his administration had received firm assurances of cooperation from the US and other countries in his quest to recover and repatriate funds stolen from Nigeria.

Buhari, while granting audience to members of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, had said that it was now up to Nigeria to provide the international community with the facts and figures needed to drive the recovery effort.

He said he would be busy, in the next three months, getting the facts that would help in recovering the stolen funds.

"In the next three months, our administration will be busy getting those facts and the figures to help us recover our stolen funds in foreign countries,'' the President had said.

The Federal Government may also go after property owned by public fund looters in London, Dubai, US, Saudi Arabia and other choice international real estate markets where Nigerians are known to be some of its biggest buyers.

It was also learnt that the Department for International Development, a UK government department responsible for administering overseas aid, had alerted the President on over N1.3tn stolen during the last administration, where it is kept and who the beneficiaries are.

"This was one of the agreement reached between President Buhari and the G7 countries when the former attended the meeting in Germany," the DFID source said.

The US in March 2014 had ordered a freeze on $458m in assets stolen by the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, and his accomplices. Abacha died in office in 1998.

The US Justice Department named two bank accounts in the Bailiwick of Jersey and two other accounts in France as depositories of $313m and $145m Abacha loot respectively. Four other investment portfolios and three bank accounts in Britain were also frozen, with an estimated value of at least $100m.

President Buhari said the last administration mismanaged the economy while stating that it was a disgrace that state governments in the country can't pay salaries; hence, the need to recover looted funds wherever they may be hidden.

Chief Olu Falae, commended the move and described it as laudable and desirable, he expressed the belief that looted funds could be recovered because the whole world is now talking about promotion of transparency in governance.
"If some monies could be recovered from Abacha loot in the recent past, then it will be possible to recover looted funds from others as well," he said.

The former minister, however, urged the President to follow due process while going after the looted funds.

"If some monies could be recovered from Abacha loot in the recent past, then it will be possible to recover looted funds from others as well," he said.

The former minister, however, urged the President to follow due process while going after the looted funds.

Falae said,
"It is just that we have to follow due process because we cannot force the countries where the looted funds were stashed to return them because they are not subject to our authorities. But if we follow due process, it might be possible for us to recover those monies.

"The monies should not just be recovered; they should be used to develop the country. There should be no exception; anybody who has looted the public fund should be made to return it. Not only monies stashed abroad should be recovered, those stolen and kept in the country should also be recovered. I wish the President good luck in his move to achieve this initiative."

Also, the Convener of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, Mr. Debo Adeniran, asked Buhari to follow the normal channel through mutual legal assistant treaty that Nigeria has with the countries where such monies were stashed, if he really wants the stolen funds repatriated.

He said, "The President may succeed if he invokes the letter of the mutual legal assistant treaty, but I am not sure Nigeria has such with Switzerland although that country has been voluntarily returning Abacha loot to Nigeria.

"There are several other countries that may not be willing to return the volume of the money that was kept in their banks by the looters except there is international status that Nigeria can invoke to compel them to repatriate the fund.

"Nigeria has to go through legal process except it was one of the wish list that Buhari presented to the G7 countries. We have expressed it in some fora that we expected that Buhari would make it the top of his agenda at the G7 summit in Germany that he should get the G7 to cooperate with Nigeria on how not to allow looted funds by Nigeria's public officials to be kept in their financial institutions."

Adeniran also asked Buhari to prevail on the governments of the countries where the public funds were being stashed to assist Nigeria to expose those behind the practice.

He said, "Property acquired in those countries must also be investigated and if it is discovered that the property were procured through proceeds of corruption, they should be confiscated on behalf of Nigeria, sell them and repatriate the money to Nigeria."

He said, "It is our hope that something positive will come out of it considering that the banks in the US and some other Western countries were part of the laundering. They collected money from corrupt Nigerians and as far as we know, their countries did nothing to make sure the banks do not collect stolen money from Nigeria.

"Those found culpable in looting our public funds should be tried in the law courts. It's not enough to collect the stolen funds without any sanctions meted out to them to serve as deterrent to others. Punishments meted out to corrupt individuals are also not commensurate with the crime committed, and this should be corrected."

BREAKING: Buhari Dissolves NNPC Board [Read Report]

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate dissolution of the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

The decision was conveyed in a letter, dated June 26, 2015, signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi.

The letter quoted President Buhari as thanking members of the dissolved board for their services to the nation.

The NNPC is the state-run oil company which oversees Nigeria's oil and gas industry. It's board is statutorily headed by the minister of petroleum resources.

The corporation regulates the oil and gas sector, and also operate as a joint venture partner representing the government in deals with oil multinationals.

The NNPC has in recent years been accused of large scale corruption, the latest being the alleged disappearance of $20 billion oil money.

An independent audit ordered by the Nigerian government in 2014 concluded that the corporation has an outstanding $1.48 billion it should pay to the government.

The NNPC has yet to make the payment several months after the release of the audit report

“Nigeria Is In Trouble With Saraki As Senate President” – Monday Ubani

There seems to be no let-up on the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC). The naming of principal officers for the Eighth Senate has added salt to the party's wound. By refusing to honour the party's position, Dr. Bukola Saraki has re-enacted the controversy that threw him up as Senate President on June 9.

Rather than read the letter written to the Senate by APC's National Chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on the floor of the Upper Chamber on Wednesday, he ruled Senator Gbenga Ashafa, who brought up a motion on the matter, out of order.

The letter spelt out the party's position and its choice candidates for principal offices in the Senate.

In it are the names of senators Ahmed Lawan (Northeast, Majority Leader); George Akume (Northcentral, Deputy Majority Leader); Prof. Sola Adeyeye (Southwest Chief Whip) and Abu Ibrahim (Northwest, Deputy Chief Whip).

A similar letter to House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara, listed the names of preferred candidates for the principal offices in the lower legislative chamber. They are: Femi Gbajabiamila (House Leader), Southwest; Alha$$an Ado Doguwa (Deputy House Leader), Northwest; M.T. Monguno (Chief Whip), Northeast and Pally Iriase (Deputy Chief Whip), Southsouth.

Saraki directed the caucuses in the senate to meet and submit their nominees for the principal offices. He discountenanced the chairman's letter conveying the party position.

Before adjourning yesterday till July 21, Saraki named the principal officers.

Constitutional lawyer Prof Itse Sag*y, (SAN), described Saraki's defiance as a rebellion against the party.

"It is a rebellion against the process that brought him to the Upper Chamber of the National a$$embly. It is the height of indiscipline that could lead to party's collapse if care is not taken," he said

Sag*y went on: "The leadership of the APC should take the bull by the horn and discipline over ambitious Saraki. He should be expelled from the party before he destroyed it. Saraki has succeeded in destabilising the APC through his in-subordinate and confrontational attitude.

"The party should make its position known and stand by its nominees for the principal offices in the Senate. APC should call the bluff of arrogant and power conscious senate president.

"The party should not condone indiscipline. It should mete out severe punishment to Saraki and his co-travellers in the Senate who belong to the ruling party".

Another lawyer, Monday Ubani, described Saraki's posturing as very sad.

According to him, with what has played out again in the selection of principal officers, if Saraki has his way, and if he remains as Senate President, everything he does will favour members of the Senate and not the APC.

Ubani, a former Chairman, Nigerian Bar a$$ociation, Ikeja branch, said Saraki's allegiance will be to the members of the Senate, particularly those who facilitated his emergence as Senate President.

The former NBA chair said: "His (Saraki's) ambition has put him in a quagmire and he is ready to do the evil. He will not take directive from the party but from members. Saraki will go back to PDP sooner or later.

"APC is in trouble with such a man occupying that position. His disposition will affect the executive arm of government. With such a conservative element at the helm of the National a$$embly, the change APC is working for will be perverted.

Nigeria is in trouble."

Gmail Adds An Official “Undo Send” Tool To Stop Emails Getting To The Wrong People

For those of us who want to send a mail and you send it to the wrong person, or you want to make a bad decision and then change your mind or just generally send mails to the wrong person and or change your mind about sending a mail, there's a solution, thanks to Google.

If you've ever hit send on an email only to realise you've sent it to the wrong person, you'll know the feeling of dread that hits the pit of your stomach.

But thankfully, for Gmail users at least, there is now a solution to spare any future blushes.

Google has made its 'Undo Send' tool an official and permanent feature nearly six years since it launched as an experiment in Gmail Labs.

This is currently available for five, 10, 20 or 30 seconds and effectively delays the message being sent for up to half a minute to give users time to change their mind.

And once they have saved the changes, the tool will be enabled for all future messages until it is switched off.

Google added the feature to Gmail Labs – a scheme the firm describes as 'some crazy experimental stuff' – in March 2009.

It was then added to Google's standalone Inbox app, which launched as an invitation only app in October and was rolled out to all Android and iOS users last month.

To use the feature on the desktop, compose an email in the traditional way and hit send.

A pop-up message will appear at the top of the inbox that says: 'Your message has been sent. Undo.'

Clicking Undo stops the message being sent and reopens it in a compose window so users can delete it, change the recipient or amend what has been written.

This works in a similar way on the Inbox app, but instead of appearing at the top of the screen, the Undo option appears in the bottom right-hand corner.

The announcement was made in a official blog post: 'Previously a popular feature in Gmail Labs, and recently added to Inbox by Gmail, today we're adding 'Undo Send' as a formal setting in Gmail on the web.

'Undo Send' allows people using Gmail to cancel a sent mail if they have second thoughts immediately after sending.'

It continued that the feature is turned off by default for those not currently using the Labs version.

FG Lifts Ban On Importation Of Furniture & Textiles

The Federal Government has lifted the embargo on the importation of textile materials into the country. Confirming this in Lagos yesterday, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS), Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko said that Nigerians can now import textile materials subject to payment of right duty.

Speaking at the official launching of the implementation of Economic Community of West Africa States, (ECOWAS), Common External Tariff, (CET), Dikko said that the items were removed from the prohibition list in line with the laws guiding the CET regime. "Textile, furniture and others have become dutiable as both commodities have been removed from the Import Prohibition Lists and it is going to be implemented" said Abdullahi Dikko.

The Customs boss, who was represented by Victor Gbemudu, Assistant Comptroller General, Zone 'A', said that importers of these goods are now expected to pay 35 percent duty as agreed by ECOWAS member countries as well as the levy as contained in the Import Adjustment Tax (IAT).

"CET also comes with some adjustments for member countries. There are 97 chapters with the 5,899 tariff headings but every member country is entitled to 3 percent adjustment.
"This 3 percent adjustment translates into 177 tariff headings to enable member countries to protect their local industries."

Gbemudu said these items were banned because the government wanted to protect the local industries involved in the manufacturing of these goods. He also promised that by 2020, there would no longer be any item on the import prohibition list as everything would have been harmonized. He said that the CET is subject to review every five years.

He however said that poultry products still remain banned as government cannot allow their importation from outside the country. "If you go through the Common External Tariff you will see that a lot of items have been removed from the prohibition list and it is going to be implemented; mostly, furniture, textiles and the rest of them, most of them will now pay duty and will have Import Adjustment Tax (IAT)"

"The CET is not new, it embraces about 15 countries which includes Nigeria, all we are just doing is to bring stakeholders to understand what the CET is all about and to a large extent it comes with some adjustments for member countries", he explained.

Speaking on the advantage of the CET on Nigerian economy, Gbemudu assured that there would no longer be policy somersault on importation, saying that importers can now project and plan five years ahead since the duty payable will remain the same. He charged stakeholders not to blame the Customs or the federal government for any inconveniences occasioned by the implementation of CET, saying that it is not peculiar to Nigeria, but that it is a regional thing.

Gbemudu said that customs introduced the Import Adjustment Tax (IAT) in order to protect certain policies of government such as the sugar policy, agricultural policy, solid mineral policy among others.

The new CET regime according to an official of the tariff will eventually lead to consolidated regional market while stimulating regional production capacity and deepening economic integration. It will recalled that the Federal Government banned these items in 2010 with a view to growing the local industries.

These Are The People Who Need Wardrobe Allowance Not Our Senators (See Photo)

A friend shared this picture with me on Whatsapp and ask how much will be required to clothe them. Seriously, its time we set our priorities right in this country. We are not asking government to be dashing people money, we are only asking for policies that will create an environment where entrepreneur can survive. Where farmers will be rewarded for their labour.

It is well with my country. Amen!!

Police Nab Three Inter-state Car Robbers After Their Operation (Photos)

Luck ran out on three suspected inter-state armed robbers who had robbed a nursing mother of her car in Ogun State as they were nabbed by the police in Ibadan the Oyo State capital on Monday.

The partners-in-crime were Fatai Ademola (24), a native of Ikirun, who resides in Sagamu, Ogun State; Jimoh Quadri (25), native of Ede; and Azeez Omotoso (25), a native of Agbeye, Odo-Otin, but resident in Kaara area of Sagamu.

The trio had trailed their target, an unnamed woman to her Sagamu residence at about 8.30 p.m. on Sunday night and forcefully dispossessed her at gun point of her Toyota Highlander jeep with registration number KJA 418 AW.

According to the Police Commissioner, Alhaji Muhammad Katsina, who was represented by the Police Public Relations Officer Adekunle Ajisebutu (DSP), while parading the suspects Monday at the Eleyele Police Headquarters, Ibadan, the suspects had bargained to sell the jeep to a buyer at Ikirun in Osun State, and he was anxiously awaiting delivery of the consignment.

While the woman, names withheld, was waiting in the car, and her gate man was busy opening the gate for her‎, the gangsters jumped inside the car.

"Azeez had confessed that he mounted the steering wheel, and carried the woman and her child to the expressway where they were dumped by the roadside before driving off.

The trio raced towards Ibadan Road with the plan of traversing the city and facing Ikirun," the PPRO said.

Nemesis, however, caught up with the armed robbers when they were arrested at the Iwo Road interchange in Ibadan in the early hours of Monday by the 'Ambush Squad' of the Oyo State Police Command.

It was during a stop and search operation.

According to the police, items recovered from the gangsters included one English made cut-to-size single barrel gun, one kitchen knife, five cartridges, one Samsung Duos, one Black Berry Touch 2 and some charms.

Ajisebutu disclosed that the victim had already been contacted following the information collected from the gangsters and that the vehicle would soon be released to her.

Maradona will run for Fifa president, claims close friend

The eccentric Argentine legend was Prince Ali bin al-Hussein's supporter during May's elections but Victor Hugo Morales says he now wants the job himself.

Diego Maradona is planning to replace Sepp Blatter as president of Fifa, according to his close friend Victor Hugo Morales.

The legendary former Argentina footballer campaigned on behalf of Prince Ali bin al-Hussein during May's presidential election, which Blatter comfortably won.

However, a few days later Blatter unexpectedly quit amid increasing pressure on his job following 14 people being indicted over Fifa-related issues including several members of the world football governing body.

Prince Ali is among the early frontrunners to replace Blatter, having convinced 73 football associations to support him in the first round of voting, and Maradona had previously suggested he could be the Jordanian's vice-president under the new-look Fifa.

But Uruguayan journalist Morales - who worked with Maradona during last year's World Cup as co-host of a TV show - has revealed the former Argentina head coach has his eye on running Fifa himself.

"He told me he was going to run for president of Fifa and authorised me to inform people," Morales wrote on Twitter.

"'I am a candidate' were the four words Diego Maradona used to answer me when I consulted him about the nomination for the presidency of Fifa."

A Fifa with Maradona in charge would certainly make for an interesting outcome if his topsy-turvy career to date is anything to go by.

Considered by many to be the best player to have ever graced a football pitch, Maradona is a World Cup-winner who starred for the likes of Barcelona and Napoli during his playing days.

However, he spent decades dealing with a cocaine addiction and was banished from World Cup 1994 in disgrace after testing positive for doping, while his 'Hand of God' goal is one of the most infamous in history.

Although the last decade has been comparatively tame - with his stint in charge of Argentina during the 2010 World Cup arguably the highlight - he does still occasionally hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

For instance, in April he was filmed taking a swipe at a steward and smashing a camera phone out of a reporter's hand as he stormed about the pitch in the aftermath of a charity match

Robbers Who Stole Huge Sum Of Money Set Ablaze By Mob In Anambra

Barely two weeks after a mob set ablaze two armed robbers at New Tyres Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, for snatching huge sums of money from a trader, two other armed robbers were, yesterday, burnt to ashes along Limca Road in the same area.

The two robbers, armed with pistols, according to eyewitnesses, had blocked a lady, who boarded a commercial motorcycle with a Ghana-must-go bag filled with money and heading towards a bank, and allegedly snatched the bag from her.

According to the source, as the lady, believed to be a cashier in one of the petrol stations along the road, was being taken to the bank by the commercial motorcyclist, the armed robbers, riding their own motorcycle, closed in on them and ordered her to surrender the bag of money at gunpoint.

The source said she surrendered the bag to them, but as the thieves made to zoom off, their motorcycle somersaulted.

It was gathered that some passers-by alerted policemen and went after them. Bullets reportedly did not penetrate their bodies. They were, however, over-powered by the mob and set ablaze.

It was learned that one of the robbers removed the burning tyre from his neck and fled with his body on fire.

He was, however, caught again by the mob, who tied his hands and legs, pushed him into a drainage with his accomplice and set them ablaze a second time.

Vehicular movements were disrupted along the road for many hours, even as some members of Anambra Traffic Management Agency, ATMA, were busy trying to control the traffic.

The Divisional Police Officer at Ogidi, Mr. Hassan Musa, told newsmen on phone that although he heard about the incident, the scene was under the jurisdiction of Awada Police Division.

He, however, described their death as two less the number of criminals operating in the state.

"If the public could always rise like this to defend themselves from the menace of the robbers, Anambra would then become a crime-free state, as desired by the state government and law-abiding citizens," he said.

To The Single Ladies!! 8 Signs He Is A Cultist

Since it is difficult to spot an individual's full identity at the first sight, it might not be easy to know a cult guy at the first sight also as there is no inscription (cult) on their forehead

In other not to fall prey of going into relationship with a cult guy while in school or anywhere.

Here is a handy guide on how to identify one.

1. He Won't Attend Classes Often And Always A Night Crawler:

Cultists don't like moving around during the day because of the fear of attack from rival group and if they do its usually in group so they can combat any attack.

Since classes are meant to hold during the day, their fear for day movement has disqualified them from attending most classes.

If you find out that he is not always in his hostel at nights and return at the wee hours, be careful he might be a cult guy.

2. The Gang He Roll With

If you discover that your guy has a clique of guys he always roll with, and these guys share unknown symbols, colour, coded word understood by the gang alone etc., then take heed you might be rolling with a cult boss.

3. He Is A Big Fan Of A Specific Colour:

Colours Red, Yellow, Blue etc. are known as identities for many cult groups. If your boyfriend is a passionate fan of any of these colours not just wears but dominantly in other gadgets he uses like wrist band Phone pack, wrist watch, Glasses, etc. Be careful.

4. Strange Tatoos

Yes tattoos, no one is saying only cult guys wear tattoo but many campus guys with tattoo belong to one cult or another. Tattoos like spider, snake, scorpion, axe, cross, etc are typical of them.

5. He Doesn't Pray Nor Visit Worship Places

Fine, not every student or guys goes to churches or mosques but if your boyfriend has this dislike for going to worship places or praying, my dear be careful you might be dealing with a devil incarnated stone hearted cult guy.

6. He Doesn't Want People To Know His Apartment:

In taking precaution, cultist don't like it when people know their apartment because they know when there is crises they will be haunted so they do not let colleagues know their apartment. So if you can't freely visit your boyfriend at home or you don't know his apartment, he might be a cultist.

7. He Acts Tough Around People:

Is your guy too tough and doesn't really tolerate people? There is high tendency that he belongs to a cult groups if he demonstrates high hostility towards people.

8. His Hairstyle:

How does he look? If his hairstyle is weird with long moustaches or he like going totally bald. Chances are that he is a don in the gang.

The above eight points among others tell you that your best friend or boyfriend belong to a cult group.

Note: That your guy has these above mentioned characteristics doesn't confirm him as a cultist but it's only a strong pointer of their traits just do your findings and if he has up to four of the above he has a huge chance of being a member.

Ugliest Man In Uganda Becomes Dad For The Eighth Time

A man crowned the ugliest man in Uganda has become a dad for the eighth time. Godfrey Baguma, known as Sebabi – which means 'ugliest of them all' – suffers from a rare medical condition giving him his distinctive looks.

The 47-year-old married his second wife Kate Namanda, 30, in 2013.

Since then the couple have had six kids – two of Sebabi's nippers come from his first marriage which broke up some years ago. Continue…

Speaking to KFM, he said: . "I caught her cheating with another man and I assured her our relationship was over.

"She liked me because of my money, but people kept telling her that she could do better, so she started eloping with another man."

Sebabi then met Namanda, who was 18 at the time, through his aunt who played go between.

He said: "I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn't want them to see me until we had a child because they would definitely advise her to leave me.

"She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later.

"I told her that I didn't choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to live me.

But she chose to stay and in 2013 they held a wedding ceremony that put his hometown Kyazanga, in the Lwengo District of Uganda, at a standstill.

Yoruba Actress Yetunde Akilapa Caught Stealing Again

It seems someone is really bent on destroying this beautiful girl's life. I wonder what they stand to gain.

Yoruba actress Yetunde Akilapa who has been branded a thief due to a strange voice she claims pushes her to steal, has gone for deliverance twice now but the spirit is still very much acting in her. Just months after she was beaten mercilessly by a mob in the Magodo area of Lagos for finding a way into a man's flat with the help of a master key, Yetunde has once again been disgraced at Yaba where she was employed as a makeup apprentice.

The lady who's teaching her makeup was said to have just stocked her shop with iphones, laptops and other gadgets she newly brought into the country. At the close of day, everybody went home, but Yetunde came back later at night with a master key.

SHOCKER: Her sister, Bose Akilapa who is so upset about her sister's dilemma, said their mother is behind Yetunde's misfortune because she once cursed her. Angry Bose is said to have gone to call her mother names asking her to reverse the curse and in-between the argument she tore her mother's clothes.

…she gained entrance into the store and took away some iphones, ipads and laptops before someone spotted her. She was accosted and arrested. Again, she blamed it on the strange speaking in her hears.

The shop owner who was later called rushed to the scene, called in the police who whisked her away. Two days after, Yetunde was released and this made the lady upset. She called in another set of policemen and they've re-arrested the troubled actress. She's in custody waiting to be charged to court.

What a life! I pray the good Lord help her out of this spiritual mess.

Amaechi Must Explain How He Spent N3Trillion – Wike’s Aide

The Rivers state commissioner for housing, Emma Okah , has dismissed the insinuation by former governor, Rotimi Amaechi, that Governor Nyesom Wike's probe into his administration is as an attempt to witch hunt and ridicule his person.

Amaechi had few days ago reacted to the a judicial commission of inquiry set up by Wike to probe his tenure as governor. He described the move as a fraudulent witch hunt of his administration.

The commissioner said that there is nothing fraudulent or wrong to ask an administration that received and managed N3trillion on behalf of the Rivers state people to explain some of its actions that are suspected to be fraudulent.

"The people have the right to know. The Nyesom Wike administration is merely protecting the people's interest by inquiring into how public resources were wasted, stolen or misappropriated by the past administration and every lover of democracy and rule of law should not complain, blackmail the state government or divert attention from that," he queried.

Okah maintained that Amaechi should not be afraid of anything if he knows that his hands are clean saying that all he has to do is to come when invited by the commission of inquiry to explain his side of the story and present documents to backup his claims. He stated Wike's government would not turn blind eyes to grave allegations of misappropriation of fund against Amaechi's government.

"Is it proper for Amaechi to sell off 70 per cent of the Rivers State Government's interests in the state's four power stations (Eleme, Omoku, Afam and Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt) at the cost of $302,400m and the entire money was withdrawn between December 2014 and April 2015 without any document of transaction or payment into any government account.

"Who owns the Bureau de Change Company that received the money and who authorised the receipt and where is the money?

"Is it a witch-hunt for Amaechi to pay out $39m to his cronies for the purpose of building the Karibi Whyte Mega Hospital and till today, not a single block is standing?" he asked.

It will be recalled that Governor Wike had vowed to carry out a forensic audit of all government accounts once he was sworn-in as governor.
