Man City determined to test Liverpool resolve with Sterling offer

Manchester City are determined to test Liverpool's resolve for Raheem Sterling.

The Daily Mail says City are expected to open the bidding for Sterling despite being told by Liverpool last week that he wasn't for sale.

Representatives from the two clubs were at the Premier League meeting in Harrogate but Liverpool's stance remains the same. They will not sell unless City go closer to £60m and make it an offer too good to refuse.

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez would like Sterling in Spain but he is not considered a priority target by president Florentino Perez at this stage.
